Contest Details
Submit a script up to 10 pages in standard script format. Initial judging is based solely on the merits of the script and its film-ability. At this stage there is no need to package the film.
From the entries, 5 scripts will be selected to be read at a special Cold Reading Series event in August. Prior to that, the writers will form a team of key crew (mandatory) and cast (optional as winner receives casting session) and then pitch the film to a panel of judges.
One winner will be announced in September. The winning film will be provided with approximately $20,000 worth of sponsored services, approximately $6,500 in cash and 90% of Contest entry fees to shoot and post the film. The production of the film to commence at a time convenient for all but with the stipulation that there will be enough time to submit to the 2013 Toronto and Vancouver International Film Festivals in April 2013 (or other major film festivals if completed sooner).
